John Ligtenberg, born in Apeldoorn on July 11^th,        a self-taught man who’s driven by emotion. John began with figurative painting, but because of the evolvement he went through he also creates abstract paintings nowadays. As emotional as he is, John creates paintings in which he can put his emotions. With his personal and unique technique and colour using, John creates what he’d like to create the most. His paintings are mainly based on the human being. He follows his own path and keeps developing. So far it has produced him his reputation in Russia and Czech as well as the upcoming reputation in Ukraine, Italy and The Netherlands. Up to now his paintings were admired in several exhibitions in various galleries, for example in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kutna Hora (Czech) and Calcata (Italy). Beside those, the Museum of Modern Art in St. Petersburg has purchased a few of John his paintings. The past has brought up a lot for John and the future has also a lot to offer, like an exhibition in Kiev (Ukraine) and the Biennale in Florence at short notice.
